Larger meaning of life
All the while I was under the impression that the world of humans that revolves around successive generations getting married was just a routine that people followed without any sense. However, on deeper thought, I could find out that the process of successive generations getting married and procreating has to do with the emotional security that the human race seeks. Its the love of the parent towards its progeny that makes the parent happy when they see their kids happily married. The reason, probably, behind this entire exercise could be the following. Humans are terrified of emotional security and the thought of their children being alone in the world after their time is even more depressing. To alleviate this depressing feeling and to bring genuine happiness to their child, they insist that the child get married when he/she attains a certain age. Once a new partner comes into the life of the child, they are reassured that their child will never be alone even after their demise. They are happy to note that even in their absence there is a soul that would take care of their beloved child. This is to be considered a selfless desire for the genuine well being of the ones you care about. So mundane stuff that people do are not that mundane after all.
